Military Property Tax Exemption

Almost every state offers some type of property tax exemption for service members and their surviving spouses; depending on which state you live in. 


Key Points

•                    Not all but most states offer some kind of exemption for veterans who are older than 65.

•                    While some not all offer a property tax exemption for 100%  VA disabilities.

•                    Each state has its own unique exemption, so it’s important to inquire the Tax Assessor’s Office where you live.


The following states offers full property tax exemption for veterans who are 100 percent disabled due to a service-connected disabilities.  This list was updated for 2025.
